I have also been encouraged to write a book about losing weight as a single Mom (I'm never going to actually write these books, you understand :). I always said it would be so hard because I'd have to make two meals every mealtime, have all the cookies and candy in the house, etc, etc... but it's actually been a lot easier than I expected just keeping track of calories. I eat roughly the same as them but keep an eye on how much (and I only buy cookies and candy that they like, not the lovely chocolate biscuits I like). I got stuck on the same weight for ages (okay, maybe a week or two) and I dropped snacks, and I know that a lot of western dietitians say don't do that because your body goes into starvation mode but it totally worked. There are other diets that say never snack, they just aren't getting as much press. For me, when I snacked, my cals went up so fast that I'd get to the end of the day and be hungry but already at my 1300 limit. This way I get to dinner, still have a reasonable amount left, and maybe more for an apple while I watch TV, on my gym bike. :)

I've lost 17 pounds now!! I say it in pounds cos it sounds like so much more!!

Congratulations!
Yes we're going to have rewards for consistent good results, and those rewards will include putting points towards donations to charity and you'll also be able to compete with other people or teams :)

Our developer is going to add the "Keep me logged in" feature and sort out the food database hopefully in the next few days - thanks for the feedback!

That's a good idea, we'll add it to the list.
Regarding notification of replies, when you hit Reply you'll see a link called "Additional Options" under the text box you type the reply in. Click that, and tick "Notify me of replies"

Cheers

Once it's in there and it's yummy, you're in a losing battle to get it out!
My tactic at the moment is remembering how full, bloated and bad you feel after a binge, and making that outweigh the anticipation you feel when you're hungry and see something yummy...

Hey, how come everything is down twice? Like if you type in... whatever, bread... it brings up all the options but everything is listed twice, exactly the same. Also, quite a few things come up with a 0 calorie value. I can only think of Weetbix at the moment.

Sure, but some sites, facebook for instance, give you the option of staying logged in (on your personal computer), or not (at the library), so that if you're using your own computer you don't have to sign in every hour or whatever.
Also, would be good to get notification of responses to stuff posted here.
Cheers.
