I always said it would be so hard because I'd have to make two meals every mealtime, have all the cookies and candy in the house, etc, etc... but it's actually been a lot easier than I expected just keeping track of calories. I eat roughly the same as them but keep an eye on how much (and I only buy cookies and candy that they like, not the lovely chocolate biscuits I like). I got stuck on the same weight for ages (okay, maybe a week or two) and I dropped snacks, and I know that a lot of western dietitians say don't do that because your body goes into starvation mode but it totally worked. There are other diets that say never snack, they just aren't getting as much press. For me, when I snacked, my cals went up so fast that I'd get to the end of the day and be hungry but already at my 1300 limit. This way I get to dinner, still have a reasonable amount left, and maybe more for an apple while I watch TV, on my gym bike.
